Dodd Runs Two Divisions at Toyota Speedway of Irwindale

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd got the opportunity Saturday night to run two new divisions, the King Taco Super Trucks and a Legend car. Paul and Dave from the Super Trucks gave Dodd a call on Thursday and asked if he would like to run their #16 K1 Speed Super Truck for them on Saturday. Dodd who was already scheduled to run a Legend car for Louis Mammolito was up for the chance to get behind the wheel of a Super Truck,. Dodd was a fierce competitor in the ASA Speed Trucks and was anxious to drive another truck. Dodd driver of the family owned #25 Whelen NASCAR Super Late Model was not to happy with his practice and qualifying times so the team went to work on the Legend and the Super Truck. The #9 Legend started in the 25th position and had moved up to 14th before contact with a competitor with only a few laps to go knocked the steering out of alignment. Dodd ended up having to pull of the track with two laps to go. Dodd had the #16 Super Truck waiting for him for the next race. Dodd started in the 16th position and just started passing trucks one at a time. With 13 laps to go in the 40 lap race Dodd was up to ninth. With 10 to go Dodd was able to pass a few more trucks and cross the finish line in the 6th position. Dodd was awarded the Hard Charger Award for his efforts and was able to thank K1 Speed, Paul and Dave from Super Trucks and of course the fans for all their support. Dodd is sponsored by Lucas Oil Products, So. Dodd started the 50 lap main event in the 5th position. The car was loose, but Dodd was able to maintain his position for the first half of the race. On lap 27 a competitor made an attempt to pass and made contact with Dodd pushing him into the wall off of turn two. Dodd wasn’t able to continue due to damage from the incident.

Twins Tough for Dodd

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his #25 NASCAR Whelen Super Late Model had a rough weekend at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. It started Friday night when testing a problem with the motor was first discovered. After spending all of Friday night searching for the cause of the problem there was no time for testing.

Saturday morning the team was hopeful that they had found the problem and got it corrected. The Super Late Models get one practice session for 40 minutes on Saturday. Dodd was the first car in line to go out for practice in hopes that the problem was corrected and he would get in some laps of practice before qualifying. On the first lap Dodd knew the problem still existed and the team wasn’t able to get it fixed before the practice session was over. The team ended up switching carburetors and took a couple of laps before the cars lined up for qualifying. It looked like the new carburetor fixed the problem.

Dodd qualified tenth out of the 23 car field. Dodd started 9th in the main event. By lap 7 Dodd had maneuvered his car to the 5th position and was catching the leaders. On lap 20 Dodd felt like his car was losing power, but kept putting down some good laps and then by lap 30 he knew he definitely had a problem and by lap 35 he pulled off the track.

Due to the motor problems Dodd wasn’t able to start the second race and fell from 3rd in the points to 10th.
The team is using the two weeks between races to fix the engine and start working their way back up to the top of the point standings at the next race on May 3rd.

Dodd would like to thank all of his sponsors for their support: Lucas Oil Products, So. Cal Pipe Trades, K & N Filters, Nu-Tech Industrial Supplies, Bob Dogger Horseshoeing, RBR Differential & Air Gas Supply.

Dodd Grabs Second At Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his #25 Nascar Super Late Model has started off the season strong with a second place finish this weekend. Dodd was in the top five during practice and during qualifying he went out and was at the top of the board with a time of 18.335; by the time qualifying was over Dodd ended up 7th out of the 22 car field.

Dodd lined up in the fifth position for the 50 lap main event. From the start Dodd’s car was a bit on the loose side, but he was able to adapt and stay with the front pack. When two of the cars just ahead of him got together and spun Dodd was able to maneuver his car through the trouble and came out in the third position. Dodd and the fourth place car were battling for position running side by side for several laps, when the two lead cars made contact and ended up at the back of the pack. This moved Dodd up to second as the car he was battling with came across the start finish line inches ahead of him. By this time Dodd’s tires were used up and he was still fighting an ill handling car, but he was able to hold on and finish the race in second.

“I had to work really hard tonight to get this finish” said Dodd as he thanked his sponsor and the fans for their support. Dodd is sponsored by Lucas Oil, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Nu-Tech Industrial Sales, K & N Filters, Air Gas Supply, RBR Differentials and Van Gordon & Brown Performance.

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd started last week not even knowing if he would be able to compete at this weekends Showdown. Thanks to the help from Jim and Scott from VanGordon & Brown Performance he wasn't only able to compete, but Dodd was able to put down a qualifying lap that was the third fastest out of the 53 cars that entered the event, he qualified behind Rip Michels and Greg Pursley. Dodd Started the race in third position and by lap 22 took the lead and led for the next 65 laps. which turned out to be the most laps lead by any competitor by 25 laps. At the 100 lap break Dodd was running second behind Andrew Phipps. After the break Dodd started fifth when the officials spun the wheel for a six car invert. Dodd's car was loose in the second part of the race as the competitor in front of him was loosing his engine and was laying oil down on the track. Dodd hung on and was able to finish in the fourth position only 1.1 seconds behind rge winner Greg Pursley who was followed by Rip Michels and Dan Moore. Dodd clocked the third fastest lap of the race just 0.03 seconds behing race winner, Pursely.

Another Top Ten for Dodd

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his #25 NASCAR Super Late Model managed to beat the odds and hang on to a 7th place finish this weekend. Dodd has had 9 top tens and 5 top fives out of the 13 races this season. 19 year old Dodd who races tye family owned Jackson chassis is the only rookie in the series to win a main event this season and is still the youngest driver to win a SLM race and lead the points standings. He qualified 6th and started 6th in the 19 car field. In practice Dodd was second fast and on Fridat night he appeared to be the fastest car on the track.

Dodd's uncle said he must have had an angel watching out for him Saturday night as when the crew was checking the car after the race to determine the reason for the cars sudden tight condition duringt the 50 lap race they found two flanges on the right front wheel hub were broken completely off and another was cracked about 80% around leaving only two and a half lug nuts holding the right front tired on for the last half of the race.

"The car was great but starting about 15 laps into the race it became really hard to handle, I'm so glad the hub didn't break anymore or I would have been in the wall." said Dodd

The 7th place finish keeps Dodd in the top five for the points series and with only 6 races left and with Steve Teets' (STR RACING) continued help Dodd hopes for at least one more win before the end of the season.

Dodd wishes to thank all of his sponsors: Lucas Oil, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Luke's Auto Body, K &N Filters, Bob Dogger Horse Shoeing, Luke's Transmissions, Stuck Up Designs, Stagger Pro 1000, and Air Gas Supply. If you would like more information call (951) 685-4223 or visit www.scottdodd.com

Dodd's First Twins 50's at Irwindale Speedway

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his #25 chevy NASCAR Super Late Model competed in his first twin 50's race at Irwindale Speedway this weekend. The two races were by no means twins in the way the Irwindale determined the starting grid. The first race grid found the 25 car field with a 19 car invert. The invert moved Dodd back to 15th position with the other fast qualifiers for the start. The second race was determined by their qualifying position with fast time qualifier Rip Michels spinning the wheel for the inversion, which ended up being nine. As 5th fastest qualifier Dodd started the second race in 5th position.

In the first 50 lap race Dodd charged his way up to a 6th place finish and was the recipient of the hard charger award for racing from 15th to 6th. The race had two lenghty red flags and a yellow flag, Dodd was able to avoid these incidents and keep his Watkins powered Monte Carlo unharmed for the second race.

The second 50 lap race Dodd lined up in the 5th position as one of the top qualifiers again this weekend. Dodd raced up to the 4th position by lap 11 when two cars behind him attempted to make a pass on the low side they made contact and slid into the #25 resultind in Dodd being pushed into the wall hard. Dodd sustained major suspension damage and was unable to continue after this incident on lap 13.

Dodd's results from both races have advanced him closer to the point's leader Rip Michels as he takes the lead in point's series from previous leader Travis Thirkettle.

Dodd wished to thank all of his sponsors for their support: Lucas Oil, So.Cal Pipe Trades, K & N Filters, Bon Dogger Horse Shoeing, Stuck Up Designs, RBR Rear Ends and Air Gas Supply.

ANOTHER TOP FIVE FOR ROOKIE DODD

Mira Loma, CA- 19 year old Scott Dodd in his # 25 Chevy Super Late Model posted another top five this weekend at Irwindale Speedway. This rookie sensation has had 6 top tens, 5 top fives and 1 win in his first seven SLM races at Irwindale Speedway in their elite series of NASCAR Super Late Models. Dodd was fastest during practice on Saturday and even though his car was a bit tight during qualifying he was able to qualify third fastest out of the 23 car field.

Dodd who started third in the main had to try and find a line the car liked as it was too loose at the start of the race and then became tight during the final laps of the 75 lap main event. He was able to hold on to fourth and maintain his third place position in the points series only 20 points behind points leader Travis Thirkettle.

Dodd who is surrounded in the points series by past Irwindale Champions, Rip Michels, Andrew Phipps and Travis Thirkettle, who are all really tight in the points series with only 20 points separating them.

Dodd has impressed all with the best series start for a teenager in the highly competitive Super Late Model class in his Jackson SLM race car, powered by a Watkins engine with setup help from Short Track Racecars.

Sponsors for Dodd’s SLM are Lucas Oil Products, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Luke’s Auto Body, K & N Filters, Bob Dogger Horse Shoeing, Stuck Up Design and Air Gas Products. If you would like sponsorship information please visit www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223.

DODD TAKES SECOND IN NASCAR SLM AT IRWINDALE

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his Watkins powered #25 Chevy Super Late Model took second this weekend behind the winnest driver at Irwindale, Rip Michels. Dodd who qualified third out of the 22 car field moved into the second position on the second lap of the 50 lap main event and never looked back. Dodd and Michels took off from the pack and had a 25 car lead before the first yellow came out. On the restart the pair was able to pull away from the pack again. Dodd was able to keep his position thru two more yellows and took the checker flag behind the winner Rip Michels.

“What a night, we had a great car and this finish moves us up to first in the points tied with Andrew Phipps”. Rookie Dodd Gets Another Top Five

Mira Loma, CA-Scott Dodd age 19, in his #25 Chevy Monte Carlo SLM had another great run this weekend, droving his Watkins powered Jackson race car to a fifth place finish Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. Dodd was at the top of the charts during practice, but the car had a bad push during qualifying resulting in a tenth place starting position for the main event. The crew worked to improve the tight condition for the main but the car was still pushing. The tight car made it hard to pass but Dodd was able to advance to fifth place by lap 35. Dodd and Lenny White put on quite a show for the fans running side by side competing for the forth place position for many laps, but this caused other competitors to close in on them so Dodd moved back up in the high groove to cool his tires and gain ground on the other cars.

Dodd has adapted very quickly to the SLM as shown by his three top five finishes and one win in four races. He has not finished outside of the top ten since his debut in the SLM’s, with his worst finish being a seventh with help from Steve Teets (Short Track Racing).

Dodd, last weekend’s main event winner, has moved from 3rd to 2nd in the points standings. He was also awarded the Hard Charger in the 50 lap main event. “I love racing in the super late models, with some of the most competitive drivers in the class in many years at Irwindale and lots of door to door racing.” Dodd is leading for the Rookie of the Year award.

Dodd wishes to thank all of his family, friends and fans that come out to Irwindale Speedway and help support him at the races. Sponsors for Dodd are Lucas Oil Products, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Luke’s Auto Body, K & N Air Filters, Stuck Up Design and Air Gas Supply. Scott Dodd Wins in His Third NASCAR SLM Race at Irwindale Speedway

Mira Loma, CA- Rookie Scott Dodd, 19, won his first NASCAR Super Late Model race at Irwindale Speedway. This was Dodd’s third start in the premier NASCAR Whelen All-American Super Late Model series. He was at the top of the charts during practice and qualified his Jackson Race Car 7th out of the 25 competitors. The inversion put Dodd in the second position for the start of the 50 lap main event. Dodd took the lead on the first lap and was able to pull away to a healthy lead, but two yellows erased that lead and meant Dodd had to defend his position again, fortunately he was able to pull away each time and maintained a good lead until the checker flag flew.

This win moves Dodd up to 3rd in the point standings only eight points behind leader Andrew Phipps and 4 points behind second place Dan Moore. Dodd moved to Super Late Models this year after two seasons in the ASA Speed Trucks. He enjoyed great success in the trucks and felt like it was time to move up to something new.

This year’s sponsors for Dodd are So. Cal Pipe Trades, Lucas Oil Products, UA Plumber’s local 78, Luke’s Auto Body, Stuck Up Designs, K & N Filters and Air Gas Supply. If you would like to become a sponsor for Dodd’s race team please visit www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223

Top Ten for Dodd’s Debut in SLM at Irwindale Speedway

Mira Loma, CA—Scott Dodd in his Chevy Monte Carlo made quite an impression last Saturday finishing 7th in his first super late model race. Dodd who made the move from ASA Speed Trucks to a Jackson Super Late Model qualified 11th after running 4th or better throughout the practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. “The car was great during practice, but when we changed tires for qualifying it made the car terribly loose, I just tried to hang on to it and get the best lap that I could” said Dodd.

Dodd who started the race in the 11th position fell back to 13th having to run the first 15 laps in the lower groove before he could find a space to move to the more desirable upper groove. Once Scott was in the upper groove he let his tires cool for a few laps and then started passing cars for positions and lapping other cars. Dodd was up to 7th by lap forty and was closing in quickly on the sixth place car and the other leaders, unfortunately the closing laps came to soon to gain any other positions, and Scott finished 6 seconds behind the winner in a very close finish. At age 19, Dodd was the youngest driver to finish in the top ten.

The fans were treated to a very competitive and clean event with 29 Super Late Models and only one yellow in the race when a competitor spun on lap one. This years Irwindale Super Late Model field includes some of the biggest racing names on the west coast, including past Super Late champions: Van Knill, Rip Michels, Rod Johnson, Andrew Phipps, and other top drivers such as: Dan Moore, Mike Price, David Beat, Russell White and others.

Dodd to Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway for ASA Speed Truck Finale

Mira Loma, CA – Scott Dodd, in his #9 Chevy Speed Truck heads to Blythe for the final race in the Speed Truck Series. Dodd, who is currently tied for second with former Champion Lee Hatch, is 42 points behind the point’s leader, Darren Young. Dodd, Young, and Hatch are the only three competitors still mathematically in the running for the ASA Speed Truck championship. This is a great accomplishment for the Dodd Racing Team.

After missing an event at Orange Show Speedway last year Dodd still finished 7th in the points series. Before missing the race Dodd was third in the point’s standings. This year Dodd has had 5 second place finishes, 7 top fives and 9 top tens and no DNF’s. Dodd has also had 1 fast time and 2 trophy dash wins. The team has made big improvements this year, as shown by the results.

Even though this is the last race in the truck Dodd still has more racing before his race season ends. He will be competing in the Open Comp race at El Centro on Thanksgiving weekend in a dirt Super Stocks that have over 500 HP, which is owned by Luke Dodd.

This will probably be Dodd’s last race in the Speed Trucks and he will be sad to leave such a great series. “I have met so many neat people in this series and being able to race all over the southwest has been a great experience” said Dodd. The first year in the series we didn’t really know anyone. The second year a few former racers from Quartermidgets and Micros joined the series. We have grown so close to the other teams and officials; we are really going to miss all the friends we have made throughout the last three years in the series.

Dodd is sponsored by Lucas Oil, Luke’s Transmissions, So.Cal. Pipe Trades, Luke’s Auto Body, K & N Filters, Stuck Up Design and Air Gas Supply. ASA Speed Truck races are televised on Versus, for the schedule go to www.speedtruck.com for more information about Scott Dodd go to www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223.

Young, the current point’s leader, ended up starting on the outside front row. Dodd was able to move into third by the second lap and into second place behind Young by lap 9. Dodd challenged Young for the lead many times during the race, but was not able to complete the pass. “I think I had a faster truck than Young, but I was waiting for the right opportunity and it just never happened” said Dodd. Dodd and Young quickly pulled away from the rest of the trucks and had a substantial lead. Dodd followed Young through lapped traffic and the two trucks had quite a lead before a yellow came out. On the restarts the two trucks continued to pull away from the pack. With about eight laps left there was a red flag for an incident, after the red flag they went to a yellow flag for a few laps and restarted the race with a green, white, checkered finish. The 100 lap race finished with Dodd right on the tail of the race winner Young.

Dodd to OSS in ASA Speed Truck

Mira Loma, CA – Scott Dodd in his #9 Chevy Truck will be competing this weekend at Orange Show Speedway. Dodd who fell from second to third by two points is hoping to regain his position from former Speed Truck Champion Lee Hatch and try and gain some ground on current leader and past Champion Darren Young.

Dodd has had 5 top five’s and 7 top ten’s out of the 8 races this season and is looking for his first win of the season. Hatch and Young who have both been instrumental in mentoring Dodd for the past two years and are great competitors and Dodd feels honored to be among them in the points chase. When we first started Hatch would get on the radio and talk Scott through the preferred line on the track. He has always been there if we had a question or needed help. Young is able to talk to Scott and give him that advice a young driver needs to help him on and off the track.

Dodd is excited that Lucas Oil has come on board as the series sponsor as they have sponsored Scott for the last 6 years and have been a great part of Dodd’s success. “Forest and Charlotte Lucas along with the employees at Lucas Oil have been a great help to our team and we look forward to many more years of working together.” said Dodd. “I hope we can get a win for Lucas Oil this weekend that would be so awesome.” The race will be televised on VERSUS (formerly Outdoor Lifetime Network). Dodd is also looking forward to his trip to North Carolina for the filming of the reality show “Racin for a Livin”, which Dodd will be a contestant in the race off for the ride in a NASCAR Busch car for seven races in the 2007 season.

Another Top Five for Dodd

Mira Loma, CA- 18 year old Scott Dodd recorded another top five this weekend at Irwindale Speedway. This was Dodd’s fifth top five of the seven completed races, his other two finishes were a 6th and an 11th. Dodd who qualified third had a great starting position after the inversion.

Dodd started the race in the fourth position right behind the current point leader Darren Young. Dodd also recorded the fastest lap of the race again giving him the fastest lap for both Speed Truck races at Irwindale this year. On the start Young, Lee Hatch and Dodd took off from the group. Hatch tried but wasn’t able to complete the pass on the leader Young. Dodd ended up taking over the second position from Hatch and tried for the lead several times. Dodd’s truck was a little too free to allow him to get under Young and make the pass stick. So they ended up finishing nose to tail with Young as the leader followed by Dodd and Hatch in the 75 lap race. This also left the point standings in the same order Young, Dodd in second and Hatch in third. “We felt we had a truck good enough to win as we were fastest in one practice and third in the other practice. I think if I could’ve tried to pass Young sooner I may have been able to take the lead and stay out front” said Dodd. Dodd who is sponsored by So. Cal. Pipe Trade went to the Pipe Trade suite early in the day to sign autographs for the Plumbers Local 78 members and was glad to have a good finish with the sponsors on hand to watch.

Dodd who is a current competitor in the “Racin for a Livin” reality TV show is currently third in the Wild Card standings. The top five in this group will continue on to the next level. The next level will hopefully take Dodd back east to North Carolina for interview process and then a race off with twelve contestants.

Dodd wants to thank all of his sponsors for their continued support. Luke’s Transmissions, So. Dodd Sets Record as Youngest Championship Points Series Leader of ASA Speed Trucks

Mira Loma, CA- Eighteen year old Scott Dodd in his #9 Go Fast ASA Speed Truck became the youngest driver to ever lead the ASA Speed Trucks Championship series. Dodd who had a great run at this weekends race at Irwindale Speedway came home with a Fast Time Qualifier award, Trophy Dasher winner and second place in the main event after leading the most laps although he had to fight a very loose truck through the main event. The first event of the year at Orange Show Speedway Dodd came from his 14th starting position to finish the 100 lap race in 2nd place. The second race of the year was at the Bullring at Las Vegas where Scott Started 5th and finished 4th. The result of both of these races placed Scott 2nd in points before Irwindale.

“The team has worked really hard to get me to this position and I hope we can just keep the momentum going” said Dodd. Dodd started racing the trucks in 2004 where he ran a limited schedule. In 2005 Dodd was third in the point’s series when he was given the opportunity to race a NASCAR AutoZone Elite Southwest Tour car at the Mesa Marin’s October Classic. Without ever getting to practice a tour before race weekend Dodd qualified and started the race in the 21st position and raced the 300 laps to come home with a top ten finish. Dodd had to miss the ASA Speed Truck race scheduled for the same weekend at Orange Show Speedway. This moved Dodd from 3rd place back to 8th in the points, but with a good finish at the final race of the season at Lucas Oil I-10 Raceway he was able to move up to finish the season in 7th. Dodd was the only driver in the top ten that had missed an event.

Fast Time Dodd Finishes Second at Irwindale

Mira Loma, CA—Scott Dodd, 18 in his #9 Go Fast ASA Speed Truck had an almost perfect night Saturday at Irwindale Speedway. The first practice session had Dodd and Lee Hatch as the fastest trucks with a time of 20.052 each. For the second session the crew tightened the truck up which turned to be a bad move as Dodd was the fourth fastest truck with a time of 20.151. For qualifying the trucks are divided into three groups according to practice times. Being one of the fastest in practice placed Dodd in the third group of trucks for the group qualifying. During qualifying Dodd went to the top of score board and remained there for the entire session with a time of 19.979 the only truck with a19 second lap out of the 23 trucks.

The fastest qualifier in the trucks rolls two dice for the main event inversion at ½ mile tracks. Dodd rolled a three which put previous Speed Truck Champion Lee Hatch on the pole for the main event. The top six qualifiers run the six lap trophy dash lined straight up from qualifying. Dodd won the dash leading from green to checker flag.

Dodd who started third in the main was quick to take the lead on the first lap and had showed he had the truck to beat. Dodd turned the fastest lap of the race with a lap time of 19.832. “The truck started out a little loose and just kept getting worse, by lap 30 I was just trying to keep the truck from spinning out and keep the lead as long as possible” commented Dodd. By lap 34 Andrew Allen in the #22 truck had caught Dodd and was able to pass him. Dodd crossed the finish line second behind the #22 truck for a career best finish at Irwindale. “It’s great to have such a great run for the So. Cal Pipe Trades night, they are great sponsors and I was excited to give them a good showing.” stated Dodd.

Dodd Ready to Take on the Bullring

Mira Loma, CA- Teenager Scott Dodd in his #9 Chevy Go Fast ASA Speed Truck is heading for Vegas this weekend for the second race of the season for the Speed Trucks. Dodd who finished second at Orange Show is excited about going back to the Las Vegas Bullring. “It’s a great track and there is always lots of side by side racing.” said Dodd.

Dodd splits his driving duties between the Speed Trucks and the Dirt Super Stocks. He races at several different tracks throughout California, Nevada and Arizona. Dodd hopes that this diversity of experiences will help enable him to adapt to different tracks and track conditions more quickly as he progresses in his racing career.

Last weekend Dodd accomplished another first in his racing career when he jumped into the seat of an IMCA Modified owned by Dan Lapka at Route 66 Raceway and won the heat race which moved him straight to the A main avoiding the dreaded semi. Unfortunately the inversion moved Dodd to the rear of the main. The crew got the car dialed in for the very dry slick track and Dodd was moving forward and looked like he would end up with a top ten behind last years track champion but ended up finishing 14th after a last lap incident with another car. As it turned out the track did not develop a second line meaning that everyone had to run in the one groove that there was causing some give and take for spots. “That was a blast to be able to win the heat for Dan and to run in the main with all the top running guys my first time out, and I met a lot of very nice people” said Dodd.

Dodd wishes to thank his sponsors for their continued support, Luke’s Auto Body, Lucas Oil Products, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Luke’s Transmissions, K & N Filters and Air Gas Supply. For more information call 951-685-4223 or go to www.scottdodd.com.

Dodd to Pilot the #6 IMCA Modified at Route 66 Raceway

Mira Loma, Ca – Scott Dodd will be changing gears this weekend and racing an IMCA Modified at the Route 66 Raceway season opener on Saturday. Dodd will be behind the wheel of Dan Lacka’s #6 Oust chassis modified. Dodd is excited about returning to the Victorville track where he raced modified midgets in 2002 and 2003.

Dodd who was scheduled to race at Perris in the Dirt Super Stock class this weekend was asked if he would like to drive the IMCA Modified for Dan. Dodd who loves to race saw this as a great opportunity to try something new and expand his experience. Even though he has raced at Route 66 he has not raced a modified. “I’ve always had great success at Route 66 so hopefully I can have some good luck on Saturday and come home with a win.” said Dodd.

The IMCA modified will sport the familiar colors of red and white that Dodd usually runs and will be sponsored by Luke’s Auto Body, LawnMasters and Luke’s Transmissions.

Dodd’s next race will Saturday April 29th in the ASA Go Fast Speed Truck at the Las Vegas Bullring. For more information go to www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223.

DODD SPEEDS TO SECOND AT ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd in his #9 Chevy ASA Go Fast Speed Truck was on the move Saturday night at Orange Show’s season opener. Dodd who had some mechanical problems on Friday wasn’t to sure what Saturday would bring. The day started off with the truck being in the top five during the first practice session but, during the next session the truck slowed down. The team made some changes for qualifying but still didn’t have the truck back where it was and Dodd qualified 14th out of the 26 trucks.

For the main Dodd started in the 14th position at the ¼ mile track and not sure how the truck would handle was hoping to stay out of trouble and move up to a top ten finish. As it turned out the adjustments returned the handling. By lap 75 Scott had moved through the field to third and the first three trucks were pulling away form the field when on lap 91 a truck put oil down on the track causing the track to go red.

Before restarting the second place truck pulled off the track with a flat tire giving Dodd the second position. Dodd tried to put some pressure on the leader hoping for him to make a mistake so he could take the lead, but with few laps left and the track slick with soak up it was hard to make a move. Dodd finished the race in the second position behind the #18 truck of Darren Young. “It was great getting back into the ASA Speed Trucks” said Dodd. “We were glad we were able to come from so far back and finish up front for our new sponsor Luke’s Auto Body, just wish I would have had the opportunity to make a move and give them the win.”

Dodd’s next race will be Saturday April 22nd at Victorville Raceway in an IMCA dirt modified and his next ASA Go Fast Speed Truck race will be April 29th at The Bullring in Las Vegas.

Dodd would like to thank all of his sponsors for their support Luke’s Auto Body, Lucas Oil Products, So. Cal Pipe Trades, Luke’s Transmissions, K & N Filters & Air Gas Supply. For more information or to become a sponsor of Dodd’s race team go to www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223.

PODIUM FINISH FOR DODD AT SEASON OPENER

Mira Loma, Ca – Scott Dodd drove his #9 Luke’s Transmission Chevy Monte Carlo from fifth to first to finish in third Saturday at the Perris Auto Speedway (the PAS) for the season opener for the Super Stocks which was Saturday day race.

Dodd started his heat race in the sixth position and even though he had some engine problems was able to finish third. For the main Dodd lined up in the fifth position. Dodd was able to race to second place in the first lap and passed for the lead by lap 2. Dodd was able to hold the lead and had a good distance on second when a yellow came out on lap 10. Dodd was able to keep the lead on two restarts from Linny White and then on lap 11 Dodd started getting loose and White was able slip under Dodd for the lead. Although Dodd was able to pressure White for remaining laps his car was getting looser as the laps went on. With two laps to go Dodd slipped high in turn four loosing momentum allowing Mark Shackleford to go under Dodd for Second. Scott Dodd Has High Hopes for Season Opener at Perris

Scott Dodd’s 2006 season starts this weekend in the #9 Luke’s Transmission, Chevy Dirt Late Model at the Perris Auto Speedway. Dodd is excited for the race season to begin. His last race, which was also at the PAS, on December 11th left Dodd a little disappointed. When after leading 25 of the 40 lap race a flat tire forced him to pit. Even though Dodd had to pit he was able to return to the track and finish the race in the fifth position. Dodd is confident that he will have a strong run this weekend.

Dodd will be competing in the ASA Speed Truck touring series starting in March, as well as the Dirt Late Model series at the PAS and hoping to run a couple of NASCAR Grand National West races if he can fit them into his schedule. Speed Truck races will be nationally televised on the Outdoor Channel again this year. For Dodd’s schedules in each series visit his website at www.scottdodd.com or call 951-685-4223 for information.

Dodd would like to thank his sponsors for their continued support- Luke’s Transmissions, Lucas Oil Products, Southern California Pipe Trades, K & N Filters, Go Fast Energy Drink and Air Gas Supply.

SCOTT DODD THIRD AT ASA SPEED TRUCK SEASON FINALE AT I-10 SPEEDWAY

Mira Loma, CA- Dodd returned to the ASA Speed Trucks this weekend at I-10 Speedway. Where he was able to capture a third place finish at the ASA ST season finale. Dodd who had been running 4th in the points in ASA ST series but chose to pass on the October 15th ASA ST race as he was given an opportunity by MRG Motorsports to compete in the NASCAR South West Tour Series at Mesa Marin's final race the same weekend where he started 21st and finished 10th in his first SWT race.

Due to the missed ASA ST race Dodd had moved from fourth to eighth in the standings going into I-10. The third place finish allowed Dodd to recapture some points this weekend and will finish the season in 7th in the ASA ST point standings.

After the weekend Dodd said "My goal was to finish in the top five, but when the opportunity to run a South West Tour car came up I just couldn't pass it up. So I'm pretty happy with a 7th in the standings and a top ten in my first SW tour race.

This was Dodd's first time racing at I-10 Speedway and qualified 6th and finished the main in 3rd out of the 22 trucks. Running the trophy dash gave Dodd the chance to try some adjustments before the main. Dodd started the main in 6th but got caught outside and slide back to about eight before starting his charge to the front. There were only a few yellows during the 100 laps and found the first three finishers nose to tail at the checkered flag.

Dodd's next race will be at Perris Speedway November 12th where he will race in the PASSCAR Super Stock class.

Thanks to all of our great sponsors Luke's Transmissions, Lucas Oil, So. Cal Pipe Trades, K & N Filters, West Coast Collision, Go Fast Energy Drinks and Air Gas.

Source: Dodd Racing
Date: 06/22/2005

MIRA LOMA, California -- At seventeen years old rookie Scott Dodd becomes the youngest ASA Speed Truck driver to win this year. Scott also now has the distinction of being the last ASA Speed Truck driver to win at this historic track, as it will be closing this year. This was also Scott’s first win in ASA Speed Trucks after racing very successfully for the last eight years in open wheel cars on pavement and dirt.
Scott was able to complete another one of his goals by graduating the following Tuesday night from Jurupa Valley High School.
Dodd’s previous visits to Mesa have yielded a second, a third, a fourth and a fast time. “I love this track, it is one of my favorites, and I felt that we had a good chance of winning this race. After we qualified ninth we made some adjustments to the truck.” Said Dodd. Dodd started the race in the ninth position and by lap five was up to the fifth position. By lap 50 Dodd had moved to up to second and for many laps was trying to pass the leader. With 5 laps left he knew he needed to make his move for the lead real soon, he waited for the right opportunity and then made his move coming out of turn two and passed for the lead. By the white flag Dodd had a comfortable lead over the second place truck. “What a great Father's day gift for my dad” said Dodd. He is my crew chief and spotter.

Before the second practice session some changes were made to try to improve the lap times, unfortunately the changes went the wrong way and we lost some time ending up ninth fast. In qualifying Dodd was able to post a time of 20.056 which made him fifth fastest. This was Dodd’s first twin 50 race with the Speed Trucks. After battling for the first 50 laps Dodd had moved up to third place.

The top five were putting on a close battle in the second 50 lap half of the race; a yellow flag came out on lap 99 with Dodd in third. With only a green, white & checkered flag Dodd was able to maintain his position and finish third, which was his best finish this season.

SCOTT DODD GETS FAST TIME & FOURTH IN MAIN AT MESA MARIN

Scott Dodd qualified with fast time for the event with a 20.550, topping the 23 truck filed, driving the #9 ASA Chevy Speed Truck. Scott was only 2 thousandths of a second off of the track record.
Dodd is a junior at Jurupa Valley High School in Mira Loma, California. Qualifying with his first fast time with the ASA Speed Trucks gave the team a lot of momentum for the event. To add to the excitement this event was the first nationally televised race for the ASA Speed Trucks with Speed Channel and the Outdoor Channel.
After qualifying the six fastest qualifiers ran a six lap trophy dash where Scott finished second while keeping out of trouble and preserving the truck for the main event.
After qualifying with fast time for the event Scott rolled the dice for a five truck inversion, placing Scott inside on the third row in the fifth position. Throughout the race Scott was right on the rear end of the truck in front of him. Scott was able to move up to fourth early in the race. The second through fourth place trucks were end to end through most of the race and pulled away from the fifth place truck a few times before yellows closed the field back up. On the final lap these same trucks were battling it out for position and crossed the line with a staggered photo finish which capped the action for the night.
Dodd's Lucas Oil, Air Gas sponsored truck added a new sponsor this week, Tropical Leaves Rent a Garden. Dodd was honored with Luke's Transmission co-rookie of the race awards.

Mira Loma, CA- Scott Dodd is heading back to Irwindale Speedway this weekend in his #9 ASA Speed Truck. Dodd’s last visit to Irwindale was nearly a clean sweep with Fast Time, Trophy Dash Win and a Second Place finish after leading the most laps of the 50 main event. Dodd had the truck to beat but the truck was loose from the start and with about 15 laps to go the tires went away and Andy Allen in the #22 truck was able to take the lead. Last weekend Dodd was at Irwindale Speedway as a crew member for the winning team of MRG Motorsports with Austin Cameron in the #88 Grand National West car. Dodd is hoping a little of Austin’s luck rubs off and he can get his first win of the year. He is currently second in the points and is looking for a good finish to help move him back to the lead.
